Pet Portrait: Annie Oakley the Shepherd Mix

Annie Oakley the Shepherd Mix (Colored and Graphite Pencil - 2014)

Meet Annie Oakley, one of the many dogs up for adoption at Stray Rescue of St. Louis.  I doubt that she is a pro at sharpshooting like her namesake was, but with a name like that she has to be talented in some way.  Maybe she can play the piano!  Or juggle!  You won't know until you visit Stray Rescue and/or adopt her.  Which you should do, obviously.

Time Spent: 23 hours and 31 minutes

Urban Wanderers: For the past 5 years Stray Rescue has been putting on an art exhibition called Urban Wanderers, in which artists and rescued animals show some of their artwork centered around this rescue organization and the animals they have helped.  This year I am lucky enough to be a participating artist with this portrait of Annie Oakley, and I would love for all of you in the St. Louis area to come out and support this cause.  For more information on the event, please click here.

Up Next: Trying to get a couple commissions lined up, but nothing set in stone yet.  So until then it is just more portfolio building for my upcoming "show" at the Dog Museum.

Until next time! Lauren H.
