Athlete Portrait: St. Louis Cardinals' Outfielder Jason Heyward

Heyward

I wasn't so sure about getting rid of the solid Shelby Miller during the last off season, especially when seeing how well he's been pitching for the Braves in contrast to the struggles Jason Heyward went through to get into the swing of things here in St. Louis, but now that he's back in his usual form it's hard to imagine him going elsewhere. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the Cardinals to sign him once the current season comes to an end, even with the talent in the crowded outfield like Matt Holliday, Randal Grichuk, Jon Jay, and Stephen Piscotty.

Oh, and how about that homerun ball he pulled back during the game yesterday? Yeah, I'll gladly take more of that. (Yes I know he missed one the day before, but shh. He's only human.)

Up Next: Unfortunately I don't have any more reference photos of Cardinals players to draw from, and probably won't be able to take any until next season (going to one more game this season, but the seats aren't close enough for my camera to get any good shots that would be clear enough detail wise). But that's OK because I have an event coming up soon at a local dog shop where I will be drawing live in store, so I need to get my focus back to pet portraits for now. I'll post more on that soon.

Until next time! Lauren H.
